Printin' With Amos!

Hello all,

After a highly informative meeting yesterday, we have determined that on Tue the 16th, Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. will be running a print workshop from 9-5 at The OSU Logan Elm Press at Ackerman Libraries and all are invited to join in. Won't it be great to take a break from meetings and MAKE something during finals? (unless your printing arms have grown too weary)

In the morning:
We will be printing wood type for a poster designed by Michael Mercil on one press and a print of Amos's design on another. All are welcome to assist in running the press and in helping out these lovely printers.

Afternoon:
After these print runs are finished, we're invited to go hog wild with some great old wood type and strange commercial images that Bob Tauber has recently acquired and to collaborate on some creations of our very own. Due to time, we will most likely work in groups rather than every single attendee getting to do their own print, but come on, collaboration is what it's all about!

At the end of the day, we will have a big exchange, and all will get to take something home! Also, please bring a snack and we will have our own little party right there at the press. We will also provide refreshments.

Logistics:
I will be there all day, and there is West Campus and above pass and metered parking as well as the CABS bus that drops off at the childcare center across the street. Take the green Buckeye Village to the Childcare, walk across the street, then straight to the loading area/stairs and knock or call [ Logan Elm: 614-688-3973 or me: 717-269-6411] so we can let you in.

For driving, turn into 600 Ackerman at the intersection of Fyffe and Ackerman (Ackerman between 315 and Olentangy) turn right, then left and left again to go behind the building and park metered or pass and walk to the main entrance, give a call.

Thank so much, let me know if you have any questions, and hope to see you there!

Don’t be an artist. Artists are full of themselves. Just make stuff. Just quit your job or whatever you hate doing, and make stuff, damnit.
